Lu Ziming and Lu Yuting
Mr. Lu Ziming dedicated his life to his hometown and firmly believed that education rejuvenates the nation. He built private schools and promoted cultural education in his native land, taking the cultivation of young talents and the revitalization of the motherland as his lifelong mission. With the conviction that learning could save the nation deeply rooted in his heart, he planted the spiritual seed of serving the country and the people in younger generations. In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928 AD), he carved the philosophy “Cultivate Talents for the Nation” at his former residence, which has since become the spiritual backbone of Yuting Action.
His son Lu Yuting was a renowned anti-Japanese national hero and one of the first distinguished anti-Japanese martyrs recognized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China. Inheriting his father's original aspiration, he bore a profound sense of national justice from his youth. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, he devoted himself to national salvation. He organized anti-Japanese armed forces in the border region of Henan, Anhui and Jiangsu, fought gallantly on the battlefield and struck fear into the invading enemy. He sacrificed his life heroically in a defensive battle in 1940. Throughout his life, he carried forward his father's ideal of “Cultivate Talents for the Nation,” advocating the broad education of young people as pillars of the country and hoping to rally national strength through knowledge.
Father and son shared an identical spiritual heritage: the dual aspiration of nurturing people through education and defending the nation through military service. This is the spiritual origin from which Yuting Action emerged. Today, their descendants carry on this legacy, continuing the two generations' aspiration to serve the country through public welfare study programs.
